Since incorporation in the State of New York in 1975, Maloney has steadily expanded both its expertise and breadth of services offered to clients throughout the United States and Canada. From the early days of primarily servicing the sugar import market, Maloney today provides services to trading, processing, and financial institutions covering a wide span of agriculturual and non-agricultural commodities.
While its professional services have expanded over time, the Maloney organization has maintained a core competence in handling sugar throughout the United States and Canada. Presently, we supervise, weigh and sample roughly 50% of the sugar that is imported by vessels into the United States on an annual basis. In addition to handling physical sugar, we also work with foreign suppliers to help keep them informed of supply and demand fundamentals in the U.S. market, as well as government administrative steps which may affect access of their sugars to the market and the related price levels which they may expect to attract.
Maloney provides clients with an expansive geographical coverage throughout the U.S. and Canada. As illustrated by the map above, Maloney’s North American presence extends from the eastern coastline of Canada and the United States to Florida, the entire Gulf Coast, along the border with Mexico, up the western U.S. coastline to Vancouver, as well as principal commodity ports along the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway. Within the interior of the continent we are active throughout the grain belt in warehouses, silos and export terminals along the Mississippi River.
Within this geographical reach, Maloney provides inspection, testing, auditing, and consulting services for a multitude of commodities that include: sugar, molasses, grains, vegetable oil, scrap metals, fruits and ethanol with independent laboratory affiliations for the testing of all commodities supervised.
